A few days ago we were contemplating the first reference smartphones running OS Tizen by Samsung manufacturer and distributed free to the developer at Tizen Conference in San Francisco. It is interesting that recently, a source from the SamMobile site said device code-named GT-i9500 is equiped the latest technology screen, Super AMOLED HD Plus, with a resolution of 1024×720 HD Dimensions 4.65-inchs. This type of screen is rumored and expected presence on the Galaxy S III but ultimately not used but replaced by Super AMOLED HD as the Google Galaxy Nexus.
Technically, the main differences between the Super AMOLED Plus and its predecessor, Super AMOLED, is in a matrix arrangement of pixels. On Super AMOLED, the matrix of pixels arranged in the form PenTile GRGB using two extra pixels for a main pixel. While the Super AMOLED Plus, each pixels will correspond to three extra RGB pixels. Therefore, with the same resolution, the extra pixels on Super AMOLED Plus will more than 1.5 and pull colors, images, text will be beautiful, crisper than Super AMOLED. Of course, everything has a price, the more extra pixels Super AMOLED Plus will cause more energy consumption than its predecessor.
Reason why Samsung does not use the latest technology screen to Galaxy S III, SamMobile guess cause may in the production process of this display, and Samsung is not quite ready for production mass quantities of products, for a device that has an important role as Galaxy S III. Meanwhile, if applying on the sample runs Tizen free of charge to developers, Samsung will be able to test the ability of the production line, quality of products and receive responses from users. It is an arrow hit a few birds.
In the past, Samsung has also used strategy rather similar for Super AMOLED. The first device running Bada, Wave S8500, is also the first Samsung device equipped with this technology.
